Dr. Hartley has been with Georgia
Lung Associates since 1986. Areas of interest include: radiologic evaluation

lung
disease,
clinical
education
and research. Dr. Hartley previously served as chairman of the Department of
Medicine at WellStar
Cobb Hospital.
Edward I. Swartz, M.D.
Edward
I. Swartz, MD, CEO, finished his subspecialty training
in Pulmonary/Critical care medicine at Case Western Reserve
University in 1984. He went into private practice starting
Georgia Lung Associates. He is the managing partner
at GLA which has grown to a 10 physician Pulmonary/Critical
care practice based at two large community hospitals in
suburban Atlanta. The practice includes all aspects of
pulmonary and critical care medicine including an eight
bed sleep lab, clinical research, allergy, immunology,
and on site pulmonary rehabilitation. Office technology
includes CT scanner, ultrasound, and echocardiography,
metabolic cart with exercise ergo meter, and five complete
pulmonary function labs. Dr. Swartz was instrumental in
the development of Southeast Research Associates (SERA)
into the largest private pulmonary and critical care research
unit in the U.S. This was then acquired by Protocare, Inc.
a Santa Monica based research site management organization.
SERA and Protocare were then acquired by Radiant Research,
Inc. Dr. Swartz brings 20 years of successful medical entrepreneurships
to CardioStream.
